The Game
Kickoff is 7 pm on Stockholms Stadion, a classic stadium built for the olympic games in Stockholm 1912 and home to Stockholm’s most successful football team – Djurgårdens IF.

Djurgården will consist of some classic players from the past years, as well as a few fans who know their way around a football pitch. Only part of the stadium will be open, the side by Lidingövägen, sections A through F. Admission is 50 SEK (approximately £4, 20). It will be possible to buy snacks and drinks before and during the game. FC United-fans will be on sections A and B.

The seminar
Starting at 1 pm on the olympic terrace on the far end of Stockholms Stadion, a seminar with the title ””United supporters – Powers and possibilities” will be held. The seminar will be in English and include representatives from FC United of Manchester as well as from Djurgårdens IF and other Swedish clubs. The admission fee is 200 SEK (to be paid at the seminar, approximately £16) and includes food, one drink and match ticket. If you want to attend the seminar, send an e-mail with your name to [email protected]. Read more about the seminar here (PDF).

After-game
After the game we welcome both locals and visiting FCUM-supporters to a get-together in Torben Grut-salen located in the bottom of one of Stockholms Stadion’s towers. There will be music and drinks and you have to be 18 or older to get in.

Good to know for visiting fans
Stockholms Stadion is located in central Stockholm.

The area around the stadium is filled with plenty of drinking and shopping possibilities. The area around Stureplan is known for more posh bars and clubs, and the area around Norrmalm is often a bit better priced. If you are on a tight budget we recommend the state owned alcoholshop Systembolaget where you can buy all kinds of alcohol at a more reasonable price than in the pubs. Generally speaking though, the price of food and drink in Stockholm is not that much different from the prices in England.

To get to the stadium is easy. About a ten minute walk from Stureplan (underground station Östermalmstorg), or a two minute walk from the underground station Stadion. A day pass in the Stockholm underground costs 100 SEK (approximately £8, 40) and the underground runs all night long on Fridays and Saturdays.

Other things to do while in Stockholm is to visit the beautiful island of Djurgården, birthplace of Djurgårdens IF and located 20 minutes from Stockholms Stadion by foot. If you’re into more touristy things, a visit to Stockholms Old Town is recommended.
